Once everybody is on board we head down the A1 stopping off in Stamford around lunchtime and then on to Eastbourne and arriving at the hotel in good time to check in and unpack before dinner.
This morning we visit the National Trusts Sheffield Park Gardens, where the game of cricket was first played in 1845 between two local villages. Four lakes form the heart of the garden, with paths circulating through the glades and wooded area surrounding them. After lunch in the tea shop, our coach will take us to the blueberry Railway station at Sheffield Park for 1.5 hour steam railway trip through stunning countryside to East Grinstead where our coach will meet us.
A free day to day to explore Eastbourne with its award-winning seafront, famous Carpet Gardens, Napoleonic fortress, harbour, 1930's bandstand and Victorian Pier. Maybe you want to venture further afield and visit nearby Beachy Head or even catch the bus to Hastings with its castle remains, a preserved Old Town and the steepest funicular railway in Britain.
We take a tour of the Sussex coast & countryside starting with a visit to Beachy Head before travelling to Lewes where we stop for a drink and visit to the Castle. From here we take a scenic run around the West Sussex countryside, passing through Steyning and Worthing before arriving in Brighton. Take a walk through the historic Lanes pedestrian area finishing outside the Royal Pavilion. Experience the heritage of the Royal Pavilion, the Volks Railway - Britain's oldest electric railway and a taste of the Mediterranean at the Marina. We return to the hotel late in the afternoon in plenty of time to get ready for the final evening's dinner.
Sadly, its time to return home today and we leave the hotel straight after breakfast and head for Yorkshire. A break in Cambridge around lunchtime and then on to your drop off point arriving back early in the evening. From here, one of our Door to Door vehicles will return you home
