Scarborough has retained the charm and style it established back in its Victorian heyday. Its many interesting shops and attractive gardens make it a resort in which to relax. We travel to the attractive town of Pickering to board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a nostalgic journey through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Also visit the Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le- Hole. We continue onto Thirsk, which was home to the legendary vet who wrote under the pseudonym of James Herriot, where we visit the James Herriot Museum.

Picked up from home by one of our Door to Door vehicles and then travel by Elite coach to the Historic town of York en route. Then following onto the hotel.
Today is a free day to explore Scarborough
Travel to the attractive town of Pickering to board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a nostalgic journey through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Disembark at Grosmont, then Transfer by coach to Goathland, which is famous as Aidensfield in the popular Heartbeat TV series and more recently as Hogsmeade in Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone. Rejoin the coach and continue to the lovely fishing port of Whitby.
Optional visit to the Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton le hole, going back 2,000 years. Then we will continue onto Thirsk, which was home to the legendary vet who wrote under the pseudonym of James Herriot. His surgery is now open as a fascinating visitor centre tracing his life.
We return home after a filling breakfast stopping off again in the Historic town of York and arrive back early in the evening.
