Door to door service

Always a popular destination, the Historic Dockyard takes visitors on an 800-year journey through Britain’s epic story of the Royal Navy and its rich maritime heritage. Amongst the many attractions available, you can discover life on board HMS Victory, take a Harbour Tour and visit the Mary Rose Museum, purpose built to display Henry VIII’s warship, lost in 1545 and recovered in 1982.

Set high on a hill, Arundel Castle commands the landscape with magnificent views across the South Downs and the River Arun. One of the longest inhabited houses in England, it retains many of the original external features, including the crenelated Norman Keep, whilst fine furniture, tapestries and rare paintings are on display in the finely preserved Castle rooms.

Chichester is one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK, with its 900-year-old Cathedral and pedestrianised city centre enclosed within its ancient city walls, it makes a compact and pleasant city to explore on foot.

Your holiday starts with a pick up from home by one of the vehicles from our Door to Door service which will bring you through to our coach. We'll make our way to Royal Leamington Spa where we'll take a break. With a town centre of around a third of a mile square, it means that all areas of the town are easily accessed on foot within a 10-minute walk. You'll find plenty of shops and places to have something to eat and drink and the Grade II listed Jephson Gardens and Pump Room Gardens both of which are a delight to stroll through. We'll continue our journey aiming to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.

Day 2

Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we make the short journey to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We have arranged entry to All Attractions at the Dockyard including the Mary Rose Museum, so you are free to explore at your leisure. We'll leave late afternoon to return to the hotel.

Day 3

Our excursion today is to Arundel Castle, one of the longest inhabited houses in England. Many of the original features have been retained including the crenelated Norman Keep, Gatehouse and the lower part of the Bevis Tower. The Castle rooms have been finely preserved and house furniture, tapestries and a collection of rare paintings. The Castle Gardens are amazing and well worth a wander round. The historic town of Arundel with it's shops and galleries are only 500m from the Castle gates and you'll have plenty of time to explore before we return to the hotel.

Day 4

A leisurely start to the day before we make our way to Chichester. You may wish to visit the 900-year-old Cathedral, walk around the City Walls or just enjoy a stroll around the pedestrianised city centre which is packed with notable buildings including the medieval market cross and a good choice of shopping and eating opportunities.

Day 5

Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we begin our journey home stopping for a couple of hours in Stratford-upon-Avon where you'll find lots of choice for something to eat and drink. We'll leave early afternoon for the journey to the drop-off point where one of our Door to Door service vehicles will be waiting to take you home.
