Our journey takes us north to Harrogate and our 4-night stay.

Day 2

Today we drive via Blubberhouses Moor to Embsay where we take a return steam train through picturesque Yorkshire Dales scenery. Day 3

We drive to Skipton - 'Gateway to the Dales'. We also take a trip on the Skipton Canal with rib-tickling commentary by our host with tea & biscuits included. Our final visit today is Pateley Bridge, where we visit the Nidderdale Museum.

Day 4

We commence with a visit to the Royal Pump Rooms Museum. Situated in the original spa building, built to house the famous sulphur well, they tell the story of Harrogate, and there's even the chance to sample the water. Afterwards, we are free to explore Harrogate. With its huge open spaces, broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and elegant buildings, Harrogate also boasts the world-famous Betty's Tearooms, founded in 1919 by a Swiss Confectioner.

Day 5

Departing after breakfast we visit Newby Hall and Gardens.
Built by Sir Christopher Wren, Newby Hall epitomises the Georgian Act of Elegance, with Robert Adams beautiful interiors. Enjoy the 25 acres of gardens that were created in the early 1920'

The floral spa town of Harrogate is a great location and hugely popular area to act as a base for the tour. It starts with a visit to Castle Howard, one of the England’s grandest Baroque mansions and the perfect setting for the hit TV series "Brideshead revisited". Next, we discover Harrogate itself. We have arranged a visit to one of Yorkshire’s treasures, Harewood House. To complete the day, why not finish with a treat at Betty’s Tea Rooms? Our final visit is a nostalgic trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railways, with some free time in the historic coastal town of Whitby.
