Great Yorkshire Show and Thirsk

The Great Yorkshire Show is an iconic three-day event and one of the biggest agricultural events in the English calendar. Every year, more than 130,000 visitors and over 8,500 animals converge on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate. There's entertainment shows, shopping, live music and cookery demonstrations all day to keep you amused.

Thirsk is a popular tourist destination close to the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. It was the home of the author James Herriot and the birthplace of Thomas Lord after whom Lord’s Cricket Ground is named. Helmsley is the only market town within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and is very pretty town to explore. It is renowned for its wide range of interesting and unique shops. All of these are independently owned and run and offer everything from designer clothing to books, homewares and gifts.

Day 1

After departure from your pick up point we head to The Great Yorkshire Show, giving you plenty of time to see all the events, shows and demonstrations before we make our way to our hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 2

We head over to Thirsk this morning to wander around this wonderful Yorkshire town. After lunch, we make a visit to Helmsley before heading to our drop off points.
