The grand Glenburn Hotel on the beautiful island of Bute is our base for this packaged tour. Enjoy the lush scenery and tranquil calm of this evocative island in between touring its famous surrounding attractions. We visit Mount Stewart House and Gardens, one of the most technologically advanced houses of its age. Back on the mainland, we travel to Glasgow to explore its many attractions, returning to Wemyss Bay for the crossing to Rothesay.  We catch the ferry from Rhubodach to Colintraive so that we can travel along the shores of peaceful Loch Fyne which brings us to Inverarary Castle and Gardens where a guided tour awaits us. We then journey through some spectacular Scottish scenery via the Rest and be Thankful viewpoint (the highest point in the area) so beautiful Loch Lomond.  

 

 

Glenburn Hotel, Rothesay, Isle of Bute

The grand and friendly Glenburn Hotel is located on the island haven of Bute, set in a prime position above delightful terraced gardens, commanding fantastic views over Rothesay Bay and the Cowal Peninsula.  All the bedrooms are equipped and decorated in a traditional country house style and have hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities and TV.

Day 1

What better way to start your holiday than being picked up from your front door and brought to the coach. The coach heads for up north stopping along enough for you to enjoy lunch before continuing to the, home for the next 4 nights. Once unpacked you can take a stroll through some of the hotels vast grounds, visit the gym or take a dip in the pool, all before dinner.

Day 2

This morning we visit the neo-gothic Mount Stuart House and Gardens, one of the most technologically advanced houses of its age, set in 300 acres of landscaped gardens, woodland and coast. In the afternoon, we enjoy a scenic tour of the island before we arrive back in Rothesay, where we spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 3

This morning, we journey to the mainland from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay by ferryfrom where we travel to Glasgow. We have time at leisure to explore the city's numerous cultural attractions including the Riverside Museum (an awardwinning transport museum) and the magnificent Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. In the afternoon we return to Wemyss Bay for our return crossing to Rothesay.

Day 4

This morning, we take a ferry from Rhubodach to Colintraive from where we travel along the shores of the tranquil Loch Fyne to Inveraray Castle & Gardens, where we enjoy a guided tour. After free time for lunch in the tearoom we journey through spectacular Scottish scenery via the Rest and be Thankful viewpoint (the highest point on the journey) to beautiful Loch Lomond, with a refreshment stop at the picture postcard village of Luss. We then continue via the Erskine Bridge and Gourock until we reach Wemyss Bay where we travel by ferry back to Rothesay.

Day 5

Breakfast over, we check out of the hotel and make our way over the moors to before its time to get back on the coach and return home. Arriving back, you will be met by one of our Door to Door vehicles and returned to your front door
