Swiss Wine, Cheese, Chocolate and Chamonix, our hotel is perfectly positioned to indulge in the most authentic Swiss cheese, wine and chocolate-making experiences, including a trip on the fantastic chocolate train. We head to the Lavaux Vineyards, where we will enjoy wine tasting at the outstanding Lavaux Vinorama. We embark on a scenic paddle-steamer cruise from Vevey to the elegant town of Montreux, made famous by its yearly jazz festival. A full day excursion on the magnificent Chocolate Train starts from Montreux as we embark on a first-class journey through the scenic countryside to the village of Gruyères. Here, we will discover how Gruyère cheese is made, with a demonstration at La Maison du Gruyère Cheese Dairy. We travel by bus to Broc, home of the Cailler-Nestlé chocolate factory. We head across the border to Chamonix via the beautiful mountain road which provides us with outstanding views as we cross the mountains. For sightseeing, we include a cable car up the Aiguille du Midi for amazing views of Mont Blanc. The famous rack and pinion railway can transport us to the Montenvers site, nearly 2,000 metres above sea level, where an imposing panorama of the Mer de Glace glacier provides us with the most spectacular photo opportunity! We sail from Hull to Rotterdam and back with P and O Ferries and stop in France both ways.

Alpine Classic Hotel is situated in the heart of the village of Leysin, a 2-minute walk from the public shuttle bus stop, a 10-minute walk from the Versmont train station and 350 yards from the ski lifts and cable cars. Day 1

traveling on P & O ferries from Hull to Zeebrugge

Day 2

We travel to overnight stop off in Golden Tulip Hotel in Troyes.

Day 3

Depart Zeebrugge and travel southwards through Europe and cross the border into Switzerland to arrive in the town of Leysin.

Day 4

We will enjoy a day at leisure in Leysin. We may choose to relax at our hotel, making use of its extensive leisure facilities or make our way to the Berneuse Cable Car, which takes us up to the summit of the mountain for perfect views of Geneva and Mont Blanc on a clear day.

Day 5

This morning, we will head to the Lavaux Vineyards, where we will enjoy wine tasting at the outstanding Lavaux Vinorama. After learning all about the wines produced here, we will head for Vevey, we enjoy lunch before embarking on a scenic paddle steamer cruise from Vevey to the elegant town of Montreux, made famous by its yearly jazz festival and its former famous resident, Freddie Mercury. After spending time here, we make our way back to the hotel by coach.

Day 6

This morning, we will embark on an epic cheese and chocolate journey! Our full day excursion on the magnificent Chocolate Train starts from Montreux from where we embark on a first class journey through the scenic countryside to the village of Gruyères. Here, we will discover how Gruyère cheese is made with a demonstration at La Maison du Gruyère cheese dairy, after which we will have time to spend in the village before we travel by bus to Broc, home of the Cailler-Nestlé chocolate factory. We will find out all about the chocolates made here, with
tastings of course! After enjoying the chocolates, we board our train once more, at Broc, for our return journey back to Montreux, arriving late afternoon.

Day 7

Today, we head across the border to Chamonix via the beautiful mountain road providing us with outstanding views as we cross the mountains. This chic mountain resort is excellent, and there are several opportunities for sightseeing including a cable car up the Aiguille du Midi for amazing views of Mont Blanc, or the more leisurely glacier railway. The famous rack and pinion railway can transport us to the Montenvers site, nearly 2,000 metres above sea level, where an imposing panorama of the Mer de Glace glacier provides us with the most beautiful photo
opportunity! There is also a new exhibition centre (the Glaciorium), which explains the creation and evolution of the glaciers over the centuries.

Day 8

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the fresh mountain air of Switzerland and begin our journey home to the overnight stop in Troyes

Day 9

Travel overnight on P&O ferries from Zeebrugge to Hull

Day 10

Arrive in the morning in Hull and travel Home.
